Sub: Participation in SHOES & LEATHER – GUANGZHOU 2019, May 28-31, 2019 under the MAI assistance of 2019-20.

China is the Fifth largest importer of leather and leather products in the world.  The import of leather and leather products of China has increased from US$ 7.7 billion in 2013 to US$ 8.8 billion in 2017, growing at a CAGR of 3.39%.   In line with its potential for growing imports, India’s exports of leather and leather products to China has also increased from USD 153.64 million in 2013 to USD 170.33 million in 2017, growing at a CAGR of 2.67% in the last five year period.

Considering the import potential of China and the scope to further enhance our exports to China, the Council is organizing group participation of members in the 29th edition of Shoes & Leather, Guangzhou @ China Import & Export Fair Complex Area-B, Guangzhou, P.R. of China during May 28-31, 2019 under MAI 2019-20.

About the Fair

SHOES & LEATHER –GUANGZHOU 2019 is a comprehensive platform for shoes and leather industries in Asia. All the relevant products and technologies will be displayed during the 4-day exhibition, including footwear and leather machineries, leather & hides, shoes materials, chemicals, accessories & components, as well as the popular knitting machines, 3Dprinting and automation technologies.

The 28th International Exhibition on Shoes and Leather Industry-Guangzhou was successfully held on 30 May –1 June 2018 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex B. Being a multinational and excellent one-stop platform, Shoes & Leather –Guangzhou 2018 attracted over 663 exhibitors and agents from 16 Countries and Regions (including: Bangladesh, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, New Zealand, Pakistan, Portugal, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States) to assemble in a 50,000 sqm exhibition hall.

There were 12 International Pavilions from 6 Countries and Regions, came from Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea and Taiwan, to support and present the most latest and quality products in Shoes & Leather-Guangzhou 2018.

Participation Fee:

The Council is charging a subsidized participation fee of Rs 85,000/- per participating company.  Each company will be provided with a standard 9 sq.mtr size booth.

The Standard Display accessories package for a 9 sq.mtr booth is as follows:

  • Carpeted floor space
  • Lockable cupboard – 1
  • Folding chair – 2
  • Waste basket – 1
  • Spot light – 5
  • 13 AMP single phase socket – 1
  • 1m Flat shelf – 6   OR   1m Fixed Leather Rack – 3
  • 1 waste basket

Any additional accessories required will be charged separately.

Members who are eligible to participate at the MAIS-Subsidized Participation Fee and whose Export Turnover during 2018-19 is more than Rs 3 lakhs and less than Rs.30 Crores, can claim Air Fare reimbursement on economy excursion class by the shortest route subject to fulfillment of other MAI Eligibility Criteria, as per the revised MAI Norms and subject to receipt of funds from the Ministry.  MAIS Intimation Application should be received by the Council by giving minimum 14 days Advance Notice excluding Date of Receipt of Application in the Council and Date of Departure from the country.

Chinese Visa:

Members have to arrange Visa to China on their own.  However, CLE will arrange for the Invitation Letters from the fair organizers.

Please note that non-issuance of Visa will not be considered as a valid ground for withdrawal subsequent to confirmation of participation. Hence, withdrawal from participation after confirmation will not be allowed.

Members interested are requested to confirm their participation by remitting the full payment to the Council. The Last Date for remitting the full payment along with the filled in Application form (attached) to the Council is on  27th March 2019.

As per MAI stipulation, we are planning to enlist 30 companies for this fair and participation will be confirmed strictly on ‘first-come-first-served’ basis.
