Dear Member,
Sub: Inviting Participation in LEATHERTEC Fair, November 3-5, 2016 , International Convention City, Bashundhara, Dhaka, Bangladesh

We wish to inform you that the Council proposes to organize group participation of Members in the subject LEATHERTECH Bangladesh 2016 tradeshow scheduled during November 3-5, 2016 at International Convention City, Bashundhara, Dhaka.

About the Bangladesh Market: Bangladesh is a growing market for leather and leather products. India’s export of leather and leather products increased from US$ 4.15 million in 2010 to US$ 18.28 million in 2014, growing at a CAGR of 48.87%.

India’s export of Footwear component increased from US $ 0.23 Million in 2010 to US $ 0.45 Million in 2014. Hence, there is a good scope for export of Footwear Component to Bangladesh.

About the LEATHERTEC Bangladesh 2016 :-
LEATHERTECH Bangladesh is an International Tradeshow on Leather & Footwear, Machinery, Components & Accessories. The Tradeshow is organized by ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd (Bangladesh). It was held for the third time last year in 2015 and the Council had also organized group participation of member companies in the third edition of the Fair.

Council’s participation in the LEATHERTECH Bangladesh
Considering the market opportunities in Bangladesh for Footwear Components, the Council proposes to organize member participation in LEATHERTECH Bangladesh. Due to shortage of MDA Grant to the individual exporters, the CLE can enlist a maximum of 15 participants for this show. Accordingly, the space will be allotted to the companies on the basis of “First Come First Serve”.

Participation Fee:
The tentative Participation Cost is Rs.85,000/- per 9 sq.mtrs built-up Stand under MDA Scheme which includes the following display accessories:

– 3 x side partitions (2 side partitions for corner booths) and carpet

– 1 x Fascia name board with company name and booth number

– 1 x Information desk

– 2 x Chairs

– 2 x 100 Watt Spotlights

– 1 x Fluorescent Tube Light

– 1 x Waste Paper Basket

– 1 x No. of 15 Amp/220 V single phase power socket

-1 1X Garment Stand or 1X Wooden Shelf

The participants have to bear the cost of additional accessories on their own if they require.

Assistance to Exporters under MDA Scheme:
A maximum of 15 members participating in this fair (whose export turnover during 2015-16 is more than Rs 3 lakhs and less than Rs.30 Crores) can be allowed to claim an MDA Grant of maximum of Rs.1,00,000/- on Stall charges plus air fare in economy class, subject to fulfillment of other MDA eligibility criteria as per MDA norms. MDA Intimation Application should be received by the Council by giving minimum 14 days Advance Notice excluding date of receipt of application in the Council and date of departure from the country.

Strictly, the space allotment would be on First Come First Serve only. The Council won’t consider for allotment of stands for the cheque bouncing / Return of cheque cases for any reasons

Members may also note that participants will have to arrange the Visa on their own. However, CLE will arrange for the invitation letter from the fair organizer to facilitate obtaining of visas by participants. Kindly note that non-issuance of Visa will not be considered as a valid ground for withdrawal subsequent to confirmation of participation. Hence, withdrawal from participation after confirmation will not be allowed.

Members are requested to kindly send the duly filled-up Application Form along with Participation Charges of Rs.85,000/- for 9 sq.mtrs Built-up Stand by Cheque / DD drawn in favour of Council for Leather Exports. This may be sent to either Council’s Head Office in Chennai or Regional Offices at Delhi, Kanpur, Mumbai, Kolkata & Agra on or before September 15, 2016. Withdrawal from participation after confirmation shall not be allowed under any circumstances and the Participation Fee will be forfeited since the Council will not get refund for cancellation from the fair organizers.
