Sub : Ban on import of Seal Skins in any form
Dear Member
The DGFT has issued a Notification No. 59/2015-10 dated 28.3.2018 (copy enclosed) prohibiting the import of seal skin in any form falling under Chapter 41, 42 or 43.
It may be recalled that the vide Notification No.33/2015-20 dated 3rd Jan 2017 (copy enclosed) import of the following skins/fur skins into India have been prohibited by DGFT. CLE had already requested the Government to remove this import ban and allow import of such leathers procured from commercial farms abroad.
