About MMT (Materials, Manufacturing & Technology (MMT formerly APLF) Fair: The MMT Fair formerly called the Asia Pacific Leather Fair (APLF) Hong Kong is the most popular leather fair in Asia and Indian Exporters have been participating in this fair for many years since its inception in 1983.

Post Show Report of Previous March 31, April 1, 2015 edition: In March 2015 a total of 1193 exhibiting companies from 53 countries participated in the MM&T Fair and over 18,467 buyers from 88 countries & regions attended the fair. In total, there were 26 Group Pavilions from 19 countries and regions including Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Portugal, Spain, Taiwan Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and USA. Top Five Countries which were represented in the visitors to the Fair, were from China, Hong Kong, India, Korea and Japan.
About the Hong Kong Market & Import Potential: Hong Kong is the gateway to China – the world’s largest trading economy: and is Mainland China’s most important entry point, handling about one-fifth of China’s foreign trade.
Hong Kong is the 3rd largest importer of leather & leather products in the world. Hong Kong is becoming a significant market for leather & leather products with its imports increasing from US $ 8007.85 Million in 2009 to US$ 11590.70 Million in 2013, growing at a CAGR of 9.69%. Hong Kong accounts for a share of around 7% in the global leather import trade of US$ 172.68 billion in 2013.
India – Hong Kong Leather Trade: India’s export of leather & leather products to Hong Kong has increased from US$ 251.54 million in 2009 to US$ 471.54 million in 2013, growing at a CAGR of 17.01%. Presently, India accounts for a share of around 4% in Hong Kong’s total leather import trade of US$ 11.59 billion. Hence, there is scope to further enhance India’s export of leather & leather products to Hong Kong in the coming years.
Council’s participation in the Materials, Manufacturing & Technology (MMT formerly APLF), Hong Kong, March 30 to April 1, 2016
The Council will organize an India Pavilion for Finished Leather, Components & Accessories in the MMT Fair, offering Built-up Booths of Minimum Size 9 sq m, which can be increased further in multiples of 3 Sq Metres, subject to availability.
As per the area taken for the CLE India Pavilion in the previous March 2014 edition, the Fair Organizer is holding space for the CLE India Pavilion for the coming March 2015 edition, which is spread over three different Zones with differential pricing.
The Fair Organizer has confirmed that the locations of the different zones and the rates for the same are as per the last edition, with no changes. Old / Previous participants are entitled to their location of the previous edition’s participants subject to making the payment by / before the due date.
Participation Fee: The tentative Participation Cost fixed for March 2016 edition for built-up booths of different sizes & zones, is as follows:

Submission of Application – Interested member-exporters are requested to send in their Application Form (Pro forma enclosed) along-with cheque /DD towards the adhoc participation charges mentioned above, as per their space requirement. The cheque/DD should be in favour of Council for Leather Exports. This may be sent to the Council’s Head Office in Chennai or Regional Offices in Delhi, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Agra and Jalandhar before 15th November 2015 enabling the Council to confirm the space requirement for the CLE India Pavilion in the MMT Fair 2016
