Sub : 0% duty for leather, leather products, fur & fur products and footwear under India – Australia ECTA
Dear Sir,
We would like to inform that as per information hosted in the website of Department of Commerce (https://commerce.gov.in) and also the enclosed Press Release issued by Government of India, the India – Australia Economic and Trade Agreement (ECTA) will come into force on December 29, 2022.
As per the enclosed Schedule of Australia, export of leather (chapter 41), leather products (chapter 42), fur and fur products (chapter 43) and footwear & components (chapter 64) from India will get immediate duty elimination i.e. 0% duty upon entry into force . The letter A in the enclosed tariff schedule of Australia denotes that customs duties on originating country shall be eliminated on the date this Agreement enters into force.
Certificate of Origin
In order to get the aforementioned 0% duty concession for export to Australia, exporters have to obtain Certificate of origin, by applying through the common portal https://coo.dgft.gov.in
Rules of Origin
For Rules of origin members may refer to Article 4.3 of the enclosed Rules of Origin document.
For Product Specific Rules of Origin (for HSN 4101 to 4103 and 4301 ), members may refer the enclosed Product Specific Rules of Origin file (Page Nos. 52-53)
