Sub : Decisions taken in 22^nd GST Council meeting held in New Delhi on Oct. 6, 2017 –  1% GST for merchant exporters

Dear Member

As members are kindly aware, a decision was taken in the22nd GST Council meeting held on Oct. 6 2017 in New Delhi that merchant exporters will now have to pay nominal GST of 0.1% for procuring goods from domestic suppliers for export.

The Central Board of Excise and Customs has accordingly issued an IGST Notification No. 41/2017 dated 23^rd October 2017 (copy enclosed) notifying 0.1% GST for inter-state supply of taxable goods by a registered supplier to a registered recipient for export.
