Sub: Inviting Participation in 7TH edition of Leathertech Bangladesh, 31 Oct- 2 Nov 2019, International Convention City, Bashundhara, Dhaka, Bangladesh under MAI Funding
We wish to inform that the Council proposes to organize group participation of Members in the subject LEATHERTECH Bangladesh 2019 trade show scheduled during 31 October – 2 November, 2019 at International Convention City, Bashundhara, Dhaka under MAI Funding scheme.
About the Bangladesh Market:
Bangladesh is a growing market for leather and leather products. India’s export of leather and leather products to Bangladesh has increased from US$ 14.07 million in 2013-14 to US$ 27.59 million in 2017-18, the percentage share of India is 7.02% in the overall import of Bangladesh.
About the LEATHERTEC Bangladesh 2019
LEATHERTECH Bangladesh is an International Tradeshow on Leather & Footwear, Machinery, Components & Accessories. The 7th edition of Tradeshow 2019 is organized by ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd (Bangladesh) and the Council is organizing group participation of member companies in 2019.
Post-Show Report:
The last edition of the fair attracted 4755 business visitors from the Leather Tanning, Leather footwear, Leather goods manufacturing and exporting sector from all parts Bangladesh who showed keen interest in the new technology on display and solutions offered by various exhibitors from different parts of the world in the areas of productivity, quality, design and Product Diversification needs of the sector. Additional highlight was the new entrepreneurs from sectors like RMG, Real Estate etc., who visited the show to get an idea of the machinery, component and finished leather needed for them when they begin new ventures.
Council’s participation in the LEATHERTECH Bangladesh
Considering the market opportunities in Bangladesh for Finished Leather, Footwear and Footwear Components and also based on the positive feedback from our member companies, the Council proposes to organize member participation in LEATHERTECH Bangladesh in the 7th edition under MAI funding support from the DOC.
Participation Fee:
The Subsidized Participation Cost works out to Rs 45,000/- per 12 sq.mtrs built-up Stand, which includes the following display accessories and services:
- One information Counter
- Four Chairs
- Six Spot Lights
- Three Wooden Shelves OR Three Hanging Rod
- One Glass Round Table
- One 5 AMP Plug Point
- Name Fascia (Two Fascia incase of Two side open booth)
- High-raised Fascia Branding
- Built up booth with Panel
- Carpet
- Entry of Company/Product profile in the Exhibitor Directory
- One Waste Basket
- Two 1 Liter Water bottle (for 4 days) each
The participants have to bear the cost of additional accessories on their own if they require.
Strictly, the space allotment would be on ‘First-Come-First Served’ only. DOC approval is only for 40 CLE member companies to participate under the subsidized cost of participation. The Council won’t consider for allotment of stands for the cheque bouncing / Return of cheque cases for any reasons.
Members may also note that participants will have to arrange the Visa on their own. However, CLE will arrange for the invitation letter from the fair organizer to facilitate obtaining of visas by participants. Kindly note that non-issuance of Visa will not be considered as a valid ground for withdrawal subsequent to confirmation of participation. Hence, withdrawal from participation after confirmation will not be allowed.
Since the Council is organizing participation in this fair under MAI funding, the MAI guidelines for fair participation would be followed strictly. A member company can participate only in any two events in a year under Subsidized Cost of Participation. Beyond, two events, Member company has to pay the fee for Unsubsidized Cost of participation. Exhibitor those who require additional booths can remit the unsubsidized participation fee @ Rs.1,27,500/- for the addl 12 sq.Mt booth.
MAI Air Fare Reimbursement:
Members who are eligible to participate at the MAIS- Subsidized Participation Fee are eligible to claim Airfare Reimbursement subject to the Airfare Funding Approval by the Government for 2019-20 and compliance of the following Conditions:-
| a. | 14 Days Advance notice- excluding date of travel & receipt of application date. |
| b. | FOB Value in the preceding year between Rs 3 lakhs to Rs.30 Crores |
| c. | Completed 12 months of membership |
| d. | Person attending the fair – Regular Director / Partner / Proprietor |
| e. | Restricted to Three times grant received under MDA/MAIS |
| f. | Claims with Original Boarding Pass |
The MAIS Intimation Application is enclosed herewith, which should be received by the Council by giving minimum 14 days Advance Notice excluding Date of Receipt of Application in the Council and Date of Departure from the country. The same will be considered subject to the Airfare Funding Approval by the Government for 2019-20 and compliance of the above Six Conditions.
Keeping in view the above, interested companies are requested to please confirm their participation by sending the attached application form, duly completed latest by Thursday, the 4th July, 2019. Participation fee may be remitted to CLE’s bank account (details given below), before the last date:-

Withdrawal from participation after confirmation shall not be allowed under any circumstances and the Participation Fee will be forfeited since the Council will not get refund for cancellation from the fair organizers.
