Sub: CLE Industry outreach Event (Webinar) on Quality Control Orders (QCOs) Implementation in the Footwear Sector- 13.09.2023 @ 3.00pm
This is regarding the Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for Footwear Sector which has come into force with effect from 01.07.2023. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles mentioned in the QCO Orders. From 1st July 2023, notified footwear products cannot be sold / traded in domestic market, without a BIS license.
Please recall that the CLE has earlier conducted two editions of Industry outreach events (Webinars) on 18.05.2023 & 21.06.2023 on the QCOs implementation in the Footwear Sector, in which information on the BIS procedures for registration of products and other aspects was discussed and guidance was provided to the industry. In furtherance to this, the CLE has scheduled the 3rd edition of Industry outreach Event (Webinar) on the QCOs implementation in the footwear sector on 13th September 2023 (Wednesday) at 3.00pm.

The officials of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) would be attending the Webinar and would explain about the QCOs implementation, followed by Question & Answer (Q&A) Session in which the BIS would offer clarifications to the queries of the participants. The officials from Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Govt of India, Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) and Industry Associations will be participating in the webinar and would be interacting in the webinar.
