Sub:Guidelines of IDLS Scheme for XI Plan – issued by the DIPP
As you are aware, vide Notification No.5/17/2007 dated 29th August 2008, the DIPP has notified the Indian Leather Development Programme (ILDP) for the overall industrial growth of leather sector for implementation during the 11th Five Year Plan period 2007-2012. One of the Schemes notified by the DIPP is Integrated Development of Leather Sector (IDLS) Scheme. IDLS scheme is an investment grant scheme approved for technology up gradation, modernization, capacity creation in all segments of the Leather Industry.
Vide Notification No.5/17/2007 dated 29.08.2008; the scope of the IDLS scheme is enhanced to include new units also. The financial assistance has been increased from the present ceiling of Rs.50 Lakh (30% for SSI and 20% for Non-SSI units) to Rs.2 Crore @ 20% to all units above the assistance of Rs.50 Lakh. The Project Implementation Units for this scheme would continue to be:
- CLRI, Chennai for Tanneries
- FDDI, Noida for Leather Products
In this background,the DIPP has now issued Guidelines for the IDLS Scheme for XI Plan, and the same is attached herewith for your perusal. The Eligible Criteria for availing assistance under the scheme have been mentioned in Point No.2 of the Guidelines.
The Guidelines of IDLS scheme can be browsed from the website of CLE www.leatherindia.org under IDLS Scheme– XI Plan which can be accessed from homepage itself.
Member-exporters may kindly peruse the new guidelines and accordingly avail the financial assistance under the IDLS Scheme.
