Sub:       Indian Navy, CLE & FDDI – Footwear Workshop-cum-Exhibition
                 September 29, 2016 – New Delhi
 

This is to inform that Indian Navy in collaboration with the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) and Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) is organizing a Footwear Workshop-cum-Exhibition on September 29, 2016 at New Delhi. The venue is Defence Research and Development Organization Auditorium, DRDO Bhawan, Dalhousie Road, New Delhi 110001.

Indian Navy is one of the largest consumers of Footwear in the country and the primary objective of organizing this Event is to provide a platform to have interactions with the Footwear Industry.  The Indian Navy will present their requirements for footwear, procurement procedures, etc. in the Workshop and this would enable the Indian manufacturers of footwear to understand the requirements of the Indian Navy for various types of footwear and also showcase their products and capabilities in the Exhibition which will be held alongside the Workshop. As per the information received from the Ministry of Defence (Indian Navy), Govt. of India, the following are the footwear requirements of Indian Navy:

Primary shoes:
1. Boot ankle black navy
2. Boot jungle
3. Flight deck shoe
4. Shoe black leather derby
5. Improved PT shoes
6. Shoe black non slip
7. Shoe per coated split leather white uniform

Secondary shoes:
1. Boot DMS for MARCOS
2. Boot rubber insulated
3. Boot rubber surgeon
4. Shoe canvas blue, oil resistant sole
5. Shoe blue synthetic
6. Shoe gum ankle high
7. Track shoes
8. Shoe perforated submarine deck
9. Shoe disposable

The specifications for each of the above footwear have been prepared by Indian Navy which will enable the suppliers to manufacture the products accordingly This specification is to be used for manufacturing and Quality Assurance against Specific Procurement Order placed by Indian Navy.   Please note that the specifications for future orders will be subject to change / improvements by the Indian Navy.

The Programme Schedule is attached herewith for your perusal.

Members having manufacturing expertise/capacity in producing the above types of footwear are invited to participate in the Workshop and take part in the Exhibition. The stalls in the Exhibition would be of sizes 2×2 Meter, which is currently being worked out with the Stand constructor firm and Indian Navy.   As the Event has to be a self sustaining event i.e. the cost of organizing this event is to be met out of the participation cost.  It is proposed to collect a Contribution of Rs.15000/- for one Ready-Built Shell Stand.  Please note that a maximum of 2 persons can be present in one Stand, and maximum of 2 persons per stand is eligible to participate in the Workshop.  The Exhibitors should occupy the Stand one day before the Event at 2.00pm on Sept 28, 2016 and set-up the product display.

Members interested to participate are requested to send their confirmation along with their Company Profile, as per Application Format enclosed. The participation fee of Rs.15000/-through cheque / Demand Draft in favour of the ‘Council for Leather Exports’ has to be submitted to the nearest Regional Office of CLE with intimation to Head Office by e mail (scan copy of instrument) followed by Post.

The last date for receipt of Application along with payment is 15th September, 2016
