Sub : Modifications in IEC Code

Dear Sir,
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has issued a Trade Notice No. 6/2016 dated 23.5.16 (copy enclosed) on the above subject. The highlights are as follows.

1)The Regional Authorities of DGFT shall henceforth consider applications seeking modifications in IEC involving change in PAN Number, by ensuring that liabilities of the previous applicant/applicant firm are transferred to the new applicant/applicant firm whose PAN will be reflecting on the new IEC.

2)Applications for IECs which are digitally signed by Power of Attorney/ Authorised signatories of a company may also be entertained by Regional Authorities of DGFT
