Sub: Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India), Order 2017 – Revision
This is to inform that Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India has issued an Order dated 04.06.2020 regarding the revised Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) order 2017. A copy of the revised Order No.P-45021/2 2017-PP(BE-II) dated 04.06.2020 is attached herewith for your perusal.
The basic objective of the Order is to encourage Make in India and promote manufacturing and production of goods and services in India, and laying down the guidelines for procurement by the Government Departments. The procuring entities have to follow these guidelines in execution of various projects with the financial support of Government of India. This Order will apply to procurements to be done on or after 04.06.2020 i.e., from the date of this order.
The implementation of various projects under Indian Footwear, Leather & Accessories Development Programme (IFLADP), Trade Infrastructure for Exports Scheme (TIES) and other government schemes etc would fall under this revised order and necessary compliance have to be made. It is therefore requested that all concerned agencies may kindly comply with the revised Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India), Order 2017.
Members may kindly take note of this Order to know the procedures of Government procurement and to thus prepare themselves accordingly for supplying to the Government Departments in case of interest.
