Sub : Removal of prohibition on import of fox, mink and chinchilla fur skins and reptile skins

Dear Member

You are aware that Vide DGFT Notification No.33/2015-20 dated 3rd Jan 2017 import of the fox, mink and chinchilla fur skins and reptile skins into India were prohibited.

CLE has been taking-up this issue with the Government requesting for removal of the import prohibition.

We are pleased to inform you that the DGFT has now issued a Notification No. 55/2015-20 dated 7th January 2021 (copy enclosed), removing the prohibition on import of fox, mink and chinchilla fur skins and reptile skins into India, subject to conditions as specified in the Notification.
