Sub: Inviting member-participation in 7th International Exhibition for Leather Industries, Leather Products & Clothes, Feb’ 11-14, Riyadh-Saudi Arabia

About the Saudi Arabian Market

The global import of leather & leather products into Saudi Arabia has increased from US$ 41.44 mn in 2008 to US$ 451.72 mn in 2011. Thus in the 3-year period from 2008 to 2011, leather & leather product imports by Saudi Arabia has grown almost ten-fold. India’s export of leather & leather products to Saudi Arabia has increased from US$ 19.28 mn in 2008-09 to US$ 38.66 mn in 2013-14, growing at a CAGR of 14.92%. Major items of export to Saudi Arabia from India during 2013-14 were Non Leather Footwear (US$ 16.42 mn), Leather Goods (9.61 mn) and Leather Footwear (US$ 9.33 mn). Out of India’s total export of leather sector products of US$ 5908.82 mn in 2013-14, export to Saudi Arabia accounted for a share of only 0.65%.

The current size of the Saudi Market for Leather Products is about US$ 548 mn and is growing at about 10% annually. Further Saudi Arabia is a member of the Arab Free Trade Zone which has 17 Arab Countries as members. Hence, considering the potential in Saudi Arabia as well as the possibility of re-exports to neighbouring countries; the Council, proposes to participate for the first time in the International Exhibition for Leather Industry Leather Products & Clothers, to be held during Feb’ 11-14 2015 in Riyadh Exhibition Centre- El Morooj District at Saudi Arabia.

About the Fair

Saudi Int’l Leather industries, leather products and Clothes exhibition is the only exhibition dedicated to leather industry in Saudi Arabia. It is known as the premier event for international companies seeking opportunities in the Saudi market.for leather products. M/s Vision Fairs has been organizing this exhibition for the past 6 years with the aim to make it the most important leather exhibition in the region. The Fair focuses on bring together top global manufacturers & exporters of leather sector products and professional visitors, buyers and major decision makers from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States.

Display Products – Display Products in the Fair comprise Leather Garments, Leather Accessories & Small Leather Goods, Footwear including Safety Footwear, Finished Leather & other Raw Materials, Machinery and Chemicals

Previous Edition of Fair – According to the Fair Organizers, “the previous edition of Saudi Leather in February 2014, marked a tremendous success, whereby 60 of the world’s top leather key players were participating, to introduce their latest Fashion to over 7,000 specialized trade visitors from the wealthy GCC countries. And this great success resulted in signing mega business deals and contracts within the show days.”

Council’s participation in 7th International Exhibition for Leather Industry and Leather Products in Riyadh Exhibition Centre,

Considering the potential of Saudi Arabia, we have planned to organise participation in the subject Fair, on self-financing basis. There is no MDA/MAI funding support for this Fair. Hence, taking into account the actual expenditure for organising participation in the fair, we have fixed a participation fee of Rs.2.55 lakhs per company for 9 sq.Mt stand.

Tentative Participation Fee: Tentative Participation Fee is Rs.2,55,000/- per 9 sq m booth. Final participation cost will be worked out after the event is completed & informed accordingly. The 9 sq. m booth includes one meeting table, one reception table, two chairs, one dust pin, 3 shelves, 3 spot lights, one electric socket, fascia and carpet. Following additional accessories will be arranged only upon request from the exhibitor – Extra Chair, Extra shelf, Hook Stand, Leather Garment Stand and Hooks.

I request all Member Exporters to consider participating in this important Leather Event in Saudi Arabia for exploring the possibilities of enhancing export of leather products to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia with its advantageous geographical proximity and India’s large export community offers tremendous scope for India in the coming years.

Interested Members may confirm their participation by sending the filled-in Application Form along with the Participation Fee of Rs.2,55,000/- through a Cheque/DD drawn in favour of Council for Leather Exports at the earliest to enable us finalize the list of participants and undertake all the required logistic arrangements in advance. This may be sent to either the Council’s Head Office in Chennai Or Regional Offices at Delhi , Kanpur , Mumbai , Kolkata & Agra on or before January 12 2015.
