Dear Members,
Sub : Two-Day Buyer Seller Meet in Cape Town, South Africa, February 21-22, 2018.
Members are kindly aware that Council for Leather Exports (CLE) has organised BSM in South Africa during 2014, 2016 and 2017. The past three editions of the BSM in South Africa had witnessed the buyers footfall of around 200.
Considering the encouraging outcome of the past events, the Council is organizing the next edition of the Buyer Seller Meet in Cape Town, South Africa during Feb 21-22, 2018 under Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme. The Council is aiming to mobilize participation of 40 exporters, so as to make it a large show featuring display of wide range of leather & leather Products (Footwear, including Non-Leather Footwear, Footwear Components & Leather Shoe Uppers, Leather Garments, Leather Goods/Accessories, Leather Gloves, Saddlery & Harness and Finished Leather).
South Africa is the largest market in the African continent and it is a Focus Market for the Government of India. India’s export to South Africa has increased from US$ 36.07 mn in 2012-13 to US$ 55.06 mn in 2014-15. The exports have slightly declined during 2015-16 and 2016-17 due to the general economic recession. With a view to bring back the positive trend in India’s exports, the Council is organizing the BSM in South Africa during Feb 21-22, 2018.
Council has availed the services of M/s LTE-Leaders in Trade Exhibition, as the Event Management Agency for the entire event coordination and buyers mobilization in the earlier occasions. Taking into account the satisfactory performance of the Marketing Agency, we are availing their services for our BSM in February 2018 also.
Participation Fee:
The fee for participation in BSM in South Africa, Feb 2018 is Rs.45,000/- per company. However, the fee will be Rs.55,000/- per company for members who have participated in the previous three editions namely March 2014, March 2016 and March 2017 under MAIS grant. Also, as per revised MAIS guidelines, members can participate only in two MAIS events per year under MAIS grant and for such participants who have completed more than 2 participants under MAIS during 2017-18, the enhanced fee of Rs.55,000/- will apply.
Reimbursement of Economy Excursion class Air Fare
Members participating in the BSM in South Africa, February 21-22, 2018 (whose Export Turnover during 2016-17 is more than Rs 3 lakhs and less than Rs.30 Crores) can claim Air Fare reimbursement on economy excursion class by the shortest route subject to fulfillment of other MDA Eligibility Criteria as per MDA Norms which can be accessed at www.commerce.gov.in. MDA Intimation Application should be received by the Council by giving minimum 14 days Advance Notice excluding date of receipt of application in the Council and date of departure from the country.
Hence, member-exporters are requested to avail the opportunity and participate in the BSM in South Africa, Feb 21-22, 2018.
Members interested to participate in the event are requested to send the duly filled application form (copy enclosed) along with the full participation fee as mentioned above through a Cheque/DD drawn in favour of COUNCIL FOR LEATHER EXPORTS on or before Dec 12, 2017 to either Council’s Head Office in Chennai or Regional Offices at Delhi, Kanpur, Mumbai, Kolkata & Agra.
Participation will be confirmed purely on ‘first-come-first serve’ basis.
