Sub : Udyog Aadhar Memorandum Dear Member

As members are kindly aware, an exporter is required to provide copies of SSI registration number/Industrial License/IEM in order to register as manufacturer-exporter in CLE/ to issue Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC).

Also, further to the enactment of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act (MSMED) Act 2006, the MSME certificates were issued for MSME Enterprises, in place of SSI Certificates. The MSMED Act 2006 provides for enterprises to register with District Industries Centre (DIC) and file Entrepreneurs Memorandum EM 1 (for new units) and EM 2 (for existing units).
As part of ease of doing business, the MSME Ministry has issued a No. 2576 (E) dated 18th September 2015 (copy enclosed), stating the following.
a) Every Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise shall file Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum as per prescribed format through online application mode for categorization as Micro, Small and Medium Units, on self-declaration basis. However, existing enterprises, which have filed EM I or EM II or both, or holders of SSI registration, prior to the coming into force of MSMED Act 2006, shall not be required to file Udyog Aadhar Memorandum, but if they so desire, they may also file Udyog Aadhar Memorandum.
b) Such online applications for Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum are to be made through the portal http://udyogaadhaar.gov.in

c) There is no fee for filing Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum The procedural aspects and format of application for obtaining Udyog Aadhar Memorandum are given in the aforesaid MSME Notification No. 2576 (E) dated 18th September 2015 (copy enclosed). It is also learnt that Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum is necessary so as to avail the various benefits of Government for MSME segment. As the Udyog Aadhar Memorandum has now replaced the erstwhile SSI/MSME certificates, it has been decided that Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum shall be accepted for registering a member exporter as a manufacturer exporter of CLE, if the Udyog Aadhar memorandum mentions the company concerned as a Manufacturer (either in Micro, Small or Medium Sector). However, the validity of Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum shall be checked by referring the http://udyogaadhaar.gov.in
