Sub : USA GSP extended for certain leather goods and travel goods
Dear Sir
As members are kindly aware, the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) programme of the USA enables either nil or concessional duties for notified imported items.
We have now received a communication from Embassy of India, Washington informing that duty free treatment under GSP will now be granted to Beneficiary Developing Countries (including India) for 23 Travel goods items. These include the certain items of leather as detailed below ( along with existing and future duties under GST).

The list of new products eligible for GSP treatment are given in the enclosed list, which may be referred. As per the list, some bovine finished leathers exported from India to US will also continue to receive duty free treatment under GSP.
