Sub: Fiscal Incentives/Subsidies extended by State Governments/Union Territories to attract Investments – Booklet compiled by CLE for awareness creation – reg.
As all are aware, in order to promote industrial developments in the State, the State Governments provides fiscal incentives / subsidies to eligible entities who sets up their manufacturing plants / who undertakes expansion projects, with a view to encourage the manufacturers to invest in their respective States, which will in turn propel the industrial growth in the State and will also lead to employment generation. Each State Government has its unique objectives, policies, guidelines, and procedures for providing these benefits/ subsidies to the units.
As an Industry Body, the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) has initiated an exercise and browsed the websites of various State Government Departments. Accordingly, CLE has compiled a ‘Booklet’ giving brief on the Fiscal Incentives / Subsidies extended by few State Governments / Union Territories in which leather & footwear sector is majorly concentrated, with a view to create awareness amongst the Leather & Footwear Industry. The Booklet has details such as name of the policy, brief on the fiscal incentives / subsidies and webpage links. We are pleased to attach herewith the ‘Booklet’ for your perusal.
Please note that the details have been culled out/compiled from the online source of the respective State Governments & UTs and these have been summarized to give an overview of the fiscal incentives / subsidies available. For detailed information, the members are requested to browse the websites of the respective State Governments / UTs, the link of which is given in the last column in the statement.
Members may kindly go through the Booklet and keep yourself updated on the fiscal incentives / subsidies extended by State Governments / UTs which would be of help to you to plan your investments and avail the support accordingly. The Offices of the District Industries Centre (DIC) in the State Governments are the front office for matters relating to fiscal incentives / subsidies.
