About the Vietnam Market:

Vietnam’s import of leather and leather products has increased from US $ 1177.79 million in the year 2010-11 to US $ 2122.28 million in the year 2014-15, growing at a CAGR of 15.86%.   India’s export of leather & leather products has increased from US $ 46.62 million in the year 2010-11 to US $ 105.55 million in the year 2015-16, growing at a CAGR of 17.75%. The major item of export from India to Vietnam during the year 2014-15 was Finished Leather, followed by Leather Garments, Leather Goods and Footwear.

Over the years, India’s Leather Products & Footwear exports to Vietnam has been steadily increasing and there exist good opportunities for the Indian exporters to increase their share of export in this potential market.

The Government of India is giving a thrust to increase our trade, investments & other forms of collaboration with East Asian countries as part of the “Act East” policy. As far as Vietnam is concerned, promotion of export of Upholstery Leather was one of the key areas of cooperation identified during the visit of the business delegation to Vietnam under the Chairmanship of Shri Rajeev Kher, former Secretary, Department of Commerce during January 2015.

 

“SHOES & LEATHER- VIETNAM 2017 The International Shoes & Leather Exhibition – Vietnam” (SHOES & LEATHER – VIETNAM 2017) is an integrated exhibition showcasing machinery and equipment, products, materials, systems and technology in the field of Shoes and Leather. The fair is organized by M/s Top Repute Co. in association with LEFASO ie the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association

 Display Products include Footwear/Tanning/Synthetic/Leather Goods Machinery; Raw Hides; Shoe Materials; Chemicals; Leather/Tannery; Synthetic Leather; Furniture/ Upholstery Leather; Garment Leather; Garment Processing Equipment; Finished Products; Accessories & Components.

Post Show Report of Shoes & Leather Fair- Vietnam 2016 : The fair had about 9,000 sq m of Exhibition Space and there were 381 Exhibitors from 29 countries including Argentina, Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, China, Cambodia, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK, USA and Vietnam. The main exhibit profiles were – Leather / Tannery (28.5%), followed by Shoes materials (27.6%), Machinery (Footwear, Tanning & Sewing) (16.1%) and Finished Products (13.9%). There were 11 national pavilions from Brazil, China, Taiwan, Thailand Vietnam, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Malaysia, Thailand and Turkey.

There was an increase by 16.5% to 8,036 trade buyers indicating the growing importance of Shoes & Leather – Vietnam as a platform which offers a complete range of leather industry related products in Southeast Asia. 5,062 (63%) of the visitors came from Vietnam and 2,974 (34%) were from overseas.

The concurrent International Footwear & Leather Products Exhibition – Vietnam (IFLE – VIETNAM) had Exhibitors from China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam showcasing different style of finished products, including mainly ladies footwear, followed by men footwear, children footwear and small leather goods.  Trade buyers and exhibitors were satisfied with the business conducted at the fair.

Considering the Market potential and visitors strength in the last edition of the Vietnam, the Council has again proposed to participate in the 19th edition of Shoes and Leather Fair, July 12-14, 2017 to be held at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for the second time under support from the Market Access Initiative Scheme (MAI) of the Government of India.

Participation Fee if space taken is more than 9 Sq.Mt will be charged at Rs 80,000 for every 3 sq m. Hence, Participation Cost for a 18 sq m StandRs. 3,75,000

Besides, the exhibitors are permitted to order any extra accessories if required not exceeding Rs.10,000/- which is included in the above Participation Fee. Extra additional accessories ordered for a value exceeding Rs.10,000/- shall have to be borne by the exhibitors. Once a member confirms participation, the Council will send the Exhibitor Manual giving the list of Accessories available for ordering and other Services which can be ordered, etc

 

Members interested to participate in the 19th Shoes and Leather Fairs at HO, chi, Mich, City, July 12-14, 2017 may please send the attached duly filled-in Application Form along with the participation charges of Rs.1,35,000/- for a minimum-sized booth of 9 sq m stand by Cheque /DD drawn in favour of Council for Leather Exports.             This may be sent either to the Council’s Head Office in Chennai or Regional Offices at Delhi, Kanpur, Mumbai, Kolkata and two extension offices at Agra & Jalandhar on or before March 24, 2017.

 

Important Notes:

 

  • Members may please note that a maximum of 40 members can be enlisted at the Subsidized Participation Fee. Space at the subsidized Fee will be allotted on First Come First Served basis as per receipt of full participation Fee by the Council from the interested members.
  • Members who wish to avail space in Gangway Area have to pay Additional Amount of Rs.14,000/- per 9 Sq Metre Booth, along with Participation Fee. The availability of space in gangway is very limited and those who respond this circular with payment will be considered first for allotting stand in Gangway area.
  • Members who participated through the Council in the last edition will be given preference for allotment of stand initially
  • New companies allotment will be done subject to availability of booths.
  • Member companies who wants additional space i.e extra booth will have pay the full participation (unsubsidized ) charges of Rs.2,40,000/- for the second booth to the Council. Allotment of a second booth to a Member, is also subject to availability of booths; as the Fair Organizers have allotted maximum of 50 booths (each 9 sq.Mt) for the CLE India pavilion participants.

 

Visa Support

 

The fair organizer will provide Visa Invitation Letter for exhibiting company’s representatives. The letters will be provided to paid exhibitors only. (The organizer claims no responsibility for any Visa rejection, what so ever). Members may also please note that participants will have to arrange the Visa to Vietnam on their own.  However, CLE will arrange for the Invitation Letter from the fair organizer to facilitate obtaining of visas by participants. Kindly note that non-issuance of Visa will not be considered as a valid ground for withdrawal subsequent to confirmation of participation. Hence, withdrawal from participation after confirmation will not be allowed.

 

No MDA Grant for Individual Exporters under MDA Scheme:

There will be no MDA Grant for Individual Exporters as the Council is organizing participation in the Shoes & Leather Fair, Vietnam during 12-14, July 2017 under funding support from the Market Access Initiative Scheme (MAIS) of the Govt. of India.
