Sub : Two-Day ‘India Leather Show’ in Madrid, Spain during March 21-22, 2017
Members are kindly aware that Council for Leather Exports (CLE) is organizing ‘India Leather Shows’ in Madrid, Spain since 2005. The last Show was organized in March, 2015, in which, 59 companies from all over India participated and displayed their latest collections of leather goods, garments, footwear, saddlery & harness and finished leather. Despite European recession, around 222 visitors representing 150 companies attended the two days show, which was comparatively higher than the buyers visited in the 2013 edition. As per the feedback of the participants, the March, 2015 show resulted in business generation to the tune of over 3 million Euros.
As per the ITC statistics, Spain’s import of leather and leather products had increased from US$ 4008.05 million in 2010-11 to US$ 4841.68 million in 2014-15 growing at a CAGR of 4.84%. Likewise, India’s exports of leather and leather products to Spain had also increased from US$ 296.06 million in 2010-11 to US$ 351.26 million in 2014-15.
Hence, considering the import potential of Spain and our increasing trend in export to this potential market, with a view to further enhancing our export share, the Council is organizing the next edition of our India Leather Show in Madrid, Spain during March 21-22, 2017 in association with the Embassy of India, Spain.
Council has availed the services of M/s Seven –SM Events & Marketing, Madrid as the Event Management Agency for conducting the Show including buyer’s mobilization in March, 2015 and on earlier occasions. Taking into account the satisfactory performance of the Marketing Agency, we are availing their services for our BSM in March, 2017 also.
The Council is aiming to mobilize participation of 50 exporters, so as to make it a large show featuring display of wide range of leather & leather Products (Leather Garments, Leather Goods/Accessories, Footwear, including Non-Leather Footwear, Footwear Components & Leather Shoe Uppers, Leather Gloves, Saddlery & Harness and Finished Leather).
Participation Fee:
CLE is organizing the India Leather Show in Spain with the financial assistance of the Govt. of India under Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme. As per MAI guidelines, members those who participated in a particular event with MAI support for 3 times are not eligible to claim the subsidized participation fee for their future participation. Accordingly, participation fee for the event has been fixed as under:-

Members can check-up with the concerned Regional & Extension Offices of CLE about their previous participation in the India Leather Show, Spain.
In this background, we request all Member Exporters to consider participating in the India Leather Show in Madrid, Spain for exploring the possibilities of further enhancing India’s export of leather and leather products to this potential market. The participants will be given a built-up stand of 9 sq.mtrs. (3×3) along with necessary display accessories (shelves, rods, name fascia, spotlights etc.) for displaying their exhibits.
Interested Members may confirm their participation by sending the filled-in Application Forms (sent herewith) along with the Participation Fee (as given in the above table) through a Cheque/DD drawn in favour of Council for Leather Exports to the nearest Regional/ Extension Offices of the Council on or before Friday, the 30th December, 2016 to enable the Council to finalize the list of participants and undertake all the required logistic and marketing arrangements in advance. Kindly note that non-issuance of Visa or any other reasons will not be considered a valid ground for withdrawal subsequent to confirmation of participation. Hence, withdrawal from participation after confirmation will not be allowed.
Participation will be confirmed purely on ‘first-come-first serve’ basis.
