Sub: HRD sub-scheme- Skill upgradation training to the existing workforce – Expression of Interest sought by FDDI from interested industry units – reg.

As members are aware that Indian Footwear, Leather & Accessories Development Programme (IFLADP) is under implementation by Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, under which one of the sub-schemes is Human Resource Development (HRD). Under HRD sub-scheme (1) primary skill development training of the persons not already employed in the sector at the entry level in shop floor operations and their placement into gainful employment in the sector (2) secondary skill upgradation training to the existing workforce, which would be on-site training conducted in the factory premises itself.

As per the intimation received from the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), the FDDI is implementing primary skill development programme under the HRD sub-scheme of IFLADP and this training programme targets potential work force in the rural areas and lays stress on skill development. Assessing the growing needs of skill development (upgradation), the FDDI is also planning to carry out Secondary (skill upgradation) skill training programme for skilled and semi-skilled workforce working in the industry, under the HRD scheme.

The qualifications and eligibility criteria for Secondary skill (skill upgradation) training programme would be as follows:

FDDI invites Expression of Interest from industry units which want to avail the skill upgradation training to their existing workforce and setting up training centre in their factory premises. The EOI document of FDDI can be downloaded from the website of FDDI https://fddiindia.com/tender-eoi-secondary.skill.php. A copy of the EOI document is attached herewith for your ready reference, which is self-explanatory.

In this background, the FDDI has requested the CLE to disseminate above information to members of CLE for awareness creation, so that the interested industry units may respond to the FDDI.
